December 2020 Student of the Month – Park View Middle SchoolKendall Copeland

Here’s what Kendall’s teacher says: “When I was approached to write of my experience with Kendall Copeland, how could I refuse!  Kendall will forever be in my mind and heart as one of those special people that we are blessed to have a relationship with. When I first met Kendall … her mother, Sindy King, glowed with affection and love for her.  In fact, their relationship was not just mother/daughter, but bff’s. Unfortunately, life dealt Kendall a lemon because of difficulties in childbirth, but she made sweet lemonade.  Her passion for life and people is consistent, inspirational and contagious.   I am honestly humbled when I am around Kendall and can model my life after hers.  She is highly ambitious which is evidenced by the highly advanced skills she has developed in art and writing among other things.

Kendall’s success is widely evident.  She has earned numerous awards and recognitions including placing first in the Region for the VSBA (VA School Board Association) art contest.  Kendall is a leader from whom I refer to regularly to  inspire all of my students.  Right now, she is the unanimously elected president of “The Beanie Squad,” a group of students who gather weekly to collaborate on a book they are writing and illustrating.   Kendall is one of the few who has truly discovered that you CAN do anything you set your mind to.  She has set lofty goals, achieved them, and then raised the bar.  She never stops! Her portfolio displays extensive work and mastery in animation, creative writing, Anime’/Manga, illustrations, oil and acrylic painting, portraiture, landscapes, still-lifes, character development, and much more.  One of her primary goals is to encourage people.  She ALWAYS has a smile for everyone and is ready to show all people how happy she is to know them.  Kendall, I want to be like you.  We ALL love you and are thankful to know you.”

When he is not in school, Charles enjoys working on his golf cart, fishing, and driving the boat. His love of being outdoors lends perfectly to his desire to become a game warden.”
