RECORD BREAKING MEMORY WALK
The Alzheimer's Association recognized some of the walkers at last weeks Memory Walk 2007 for their efforts. Honorary Chairperson Helen Chessman, (far left) is pictured with Robin McGhee with the top money raising team The Ruby Slippers, Top individual fundraiser went to Jean Messar, Jacqueline Vaught was first runner in, Clint Brame was the first walker in, Louise Piercy was the oldest walker at 71, the youngest was Matthew Clark and Faye Seamster was the first to sign on as 2008 team Captain to get a new team for next years event. The registration line was busy as a record braking 124 people signed on to walk.
These walkers cross the bridge to the finish line near the gazebo in Centennial Park in South Hill.
Helen Chessman with LCAAA and this years honorary Chairperson gave a few words of encouragement to the crowd.
Katherine Crutchfield, the honorary caregivers spokesperson finished the walk with her sister Linda close behind (far left). Linda came in from Texas to walk in the 2007 Memory Walk with Katherine in memory of their father and mother, S.T. and Jean Moore.
Walkers are at the starting gate for the 2007 Memory Walk in South Hill. A group of 124 walkers of all ages headed out for the two mile trek as soon as this photo was snapped.
